Step-by-step guideWebOwner / Admin
Configure an automated SFTP feed
What you will accomplish
You will define an SFTP polling connection, verify it, run it, and inspect file history.
Who can do this
Owners and Admins can manage SFTP feeds.
Before you start
Obtain the host, port, username, password or private key, SHA-256 host-key fingerprint, remote path, filename pattern, schedule, target track, rooftop, and sample file. Verify the fingerprint with the server owner through a trusted channel.
Add the feed
- Open Account menu → Config → Connect your data.
- Select SFTP.
- Enter Connection name.
- Select Target track and Rooftop.
- Enter Host, Port, and Username.
- Select Auth type and enter the credential.
- Enter Host key fingerprint (SHA-256).
- Enter Remote path and File pattern (glob).
- Enter Poll interval (minutes) and Max files per poll.
- Add optional archive, quarantine, delimiter, and event-date settings only when the source requires them.
- Select Add SFTP feed.
Test and run
- Find the connection in SFTP connections.
- Select Test.
- Resolve any connection or fingerprint error.
- Select Run now for a controlled first run.
- Read Import history and open an available file result.
The normal arrival schedule follows Poll interval (minutes) and source file delivery. It is not a universal immediate sync.
Expected result: a successful test confirms the configured server can be reached, and a controlled run records each discovered file's actual result in Import history.
Troubleshooting and recovery
- Fingerprint mismatch: stop; verify the server identity before changing the fingerprint.
- No files found: check remote path, glob, permissions, and whether the source delivered a file.
- File quarantined: read the import error and inspect the configured quarantine path.
- Editing credentials: leave the replacement credential blank only when the form explicitly says the stored credential will remain.
