Understand access, scope, roles, and locked features
What you will accomplish
You will identify why two people may see different records or controls and know who can change each type of access.
Who can do this
All users can review their own access. Owners and Admins can manage users; some billing actions can require the Owner.
Before you start
Know the active workspace and the page or control that appears missing.
Understand the access layers
- Check Role: Owner and Admin roles can reach Config; Members cannot.
- Check Scope: rooftop or domain assignments limit which operating data a person can use.
- Check Track or aspect access: a person may be assigned only part of the workspace.
- Check Vertical: automotive-only features do not appear in other verticals.
- Check Plan or feature: a locked surface can require a subscription feature.
Review your access
- Open the account menu.
- Select Profile.
- Read the role and access summary.
- Return to the affected page and confirm the active scope.
Request a change
- Record the missing destination, track, or rooftop.
- Ask an Owner or Admin to open Config → Users.
- Ask them to review your role, rooftop assignments, and aspects.
- If the feature is plan-locked, ask an authorized billing administrator to review the subscription.
Expected result: allowed destinations appear after the relevant access or subscription is updated and the page reloads.
Troubleshooting and recovery
- The control is disabled: complete any required selection first; a disabled action is not always a permission failure.
- Profile access looks correct: check the active scope and page filters.
- An upgrade page appears: the route exists, but the track or feature is not entitled.
