Getting started with Birdseye

Birdseye organizes your workspace's operational data into tracks (related records such as Sales or Service), Views (ways to analyze those records), Workflow (stages where work moves), and Signals (items that may need attention).

What you will accomplish

You will sign in, confirm which workspace and data scope you are using, and choose a safe first task.

Who can do this

Owners, Admins, and Members can follow this guide. What you see depends on your role, assigned rooftops or domains, enabled tracks, vertical, and subscription.

Before you start

  • If a teammate invited you, use the sign-in method associated with the invited email address.
  • If you are the first Owner, be ready to create the workspace and select the onboarding path shown to you.
  • A blank or locked page does not always mean an error. Data, permission, and plan availability are separate.

Sign in as an invited user

  1. Open the invitation or your organization's Birdseye sign-in page.
  2. Select the available sign-in method.
  3. Complete authentication with the same email address that received the invitation.
  4. Wait for Birdseye to open the workspace.

Expected result: you reach Birdseye Home or the workspace-selection step. If you belong to more than one workspace, confirm the active workspace before reviewing data.

Start as the first workspace Owner

  1. Complete sign-in.
  2. On onboarding, enter the requested business information.
  3. Select the vertical and setup path that describe the business.
  4. If plan selection appears, review the available option and continue.
  5. Complete the automotive dealer checklist or CSV setup when that path is shown.

Expected result: Birdseye creates or provisions the workspace and takes you to the next required setup step. Setup can remain incomplete while connections or dealer information are being prepared.

Confirm your starting context

  1. Open the account menu in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select Profile.
  3. Read the workspace, role, access, and scope information.
  4. Return to Home.
  5. Use the scope control in the header, when present, to confirm the rooftop or domain whose data you intend to view.

A rooftop, location, unit, team, or domain is the top-level operating scope used by your workspace. The label changes by vertical.

Choose your first task

  1. Select Home for a summary of current activity.
  2. Select a track such as Sales, Service, or a custom track to inspect its records.
  3. Select Views to compare metrics or break them down by a dimension.
  4. Select Signals to review items requiring attention.
  5. Open the account menu and select Help Center whenever a label or workflow is unfamiliar.

Troubleshooting and recovery

  • You return to sign-in: confirm the invited email address and try the same authentication method again.
  • You see no workspace: ask an Owner or Admin to verify that your invitation is active.
  • A track is missing or locked: it may be outside your assigned access or subscription. Check Profile, then ask an Owner or Admin.
  • A page has no data: confirm the workspace, scope, range, and filters. An administrator can check the connection status.
