Manage rooftops, locations, units, teams, or domains

What you will accomplish

You will manage the top-level operating scopes used by the workspace.

Who can do this

Owners and Admins can manage domains. Billing-related payer controls may require additional authority.

Before you start

Birdseye uses a vertical-specific label such as rooftop, location, unit, team, or domain. Confirm the official name and downstream user, goal, connection, and billing impact before changing one.

Add a scope

1. Open Account menu → Config.
2. Select Rooftops, Locations, Units, Teams, or Domains.
3. Find Add domain or the vertical-specific add control.
4. Enter the name.
5. Select Add team or Add domain, as shown.
6. Confirm the new scope appears.

Change or deactivate a scope

1. Find the scope.
2. Open its available management control.
3. Change the supported name, configuration, or payer information.
4. Save and confirm the result.
5. To deactivate, verify that users, feeds, goals, and billing no longer rely on it.
6. Select the deactivate action and confirm.

Birdseye prevents deactivating the only active domain. Deactivation is different from changing the active scope in the header.

Expected result: the domain list shows the saved name, configuration, or inactive state, and affected scope selectors reflect active access.

Troubleshooting and recovery

• Deactivate is unavailable: at least one active domain must remain.
• A user cannot switch to the new scope: assign it under Config → Users.
• No data appears: connect or route records to the new domain.
