Use track pages, filters, and records

What you will accomplish

You will open a track, choose an area, find records, and inspect one record without confusing filters with missing data.

Who can do this

All roles can use tracks assigned to them. Edit and workflow controls depend on role and workspace policy.

Before you start

A track is a configured record collection. Examples include Sales, Finance, Internet, Parts, Service, Franchise, General Franchise, Sports, Generic, custom tracks, and automotive log tracks. Controls vary by track; this guide covers shared behavior only.

Find records

  1. Select the track in navigation.
  2. Select an area tab if the page offers more than one.
  3. Select the date range.
  4. Enter a value in Search to narrow matching records.
  5. Open Filters and select only the conditions you need.
  6. Select a column heading or sort control to change order.
  7. Select a record row to open its detail when the row is interactive.

Expected result: the visible result count and rows reflect the combined track, area, scope, range, search, filters, and sorting.

Clear a narrow result

  1. Clear the search text.
  2. Remove filters.
  3. Widen the range.
  4. Confirm the active scope.
  5. Reload the page if a connection was just run.

Troubleshooting and recovery

  • No row opens: that track or row may be summary-only.
  • An edit control is missing: the role or track configuration may be read-only.
  • Columns differ from another track: each track has its own configured fields.
  • A record is absent: ask an Admin to check connection mapping, scope routing, and import status.
